Region 4 Education Service Center seeks an experienced Assistant Director to lead Talent Training & Support. The role oversees educator development initiatives, including the Region 4 Inspire Texas EPP, ensuring high-quality professional learning, coaching, and talent development aligned with HB 2 and TEA priorities.

The position requires a Master’s in Education and Texas certification, with extensive leadership, coaching, and program management experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
  • Valid Texas teacher and principal or equivalent administrator certificate.
  • Valid Texas T-TESS and T-PESS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for regional educator development initiatives aligned to HB 2, TEA priorities, and Region 4 goals.
  • Lead planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of grant-funded and TEA-aligned initiatives.
  • Establish clear implementation plans, timelines, performance indicators, and quarterly milestones.
  • Monitor program progress, identify barriers and opportunities, and implement timely adjustments.
  • Coordinate multiple projects across programs, departments, and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain systems to monitor program quality, fidelity, and outcomes.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, executive updates, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Ensure grant deliverables and milestones are completed on schedule.
  • Lead design and implementation of professional learning that strengthens teacher effectiveness.
  • Coordinate professional learning delivered by Region 4 experts and external partners, including TLAC.
  • Ensure learning is practice-based, curriculum-embedded, and job-embedded.
  • Support HQIM implementation, especially in literacy and mathematics.
  • Coordinate learning experiences on lesson prep, student culture, and engagement.
  • Build systems so educators apply learning in authentic settings.
  • Develop professional learning pathways for teachers and leaders.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness through feedback and data.
  • Strengthen coaching systems for leaders using research-based frameworks.
  • Support Texas Mentorship Training for mentors and coaches.
  • Provide resources for coaches and instructional leaders to develop educators.
  • Establish coaching, observation, and feedback processes.
  • Support leaders in using data to guide development.
  • Facilitate data-informed coaching and improvement.
  • Build instructional leadership capacity across campuses and districts.
  • Develop leaders' ability to lead practice-based professional learning.
  • Support leaders in facilitating lesson preparation and internalization.
  • Build capacity to use observation and feedback to accelerate development.
  • Help leaders analyze instructional data and student work.
  • Create tools to sustain effective professional learning across organizations.
  • Region 4 Inspire Texas EPP Support collaboration to strengthen preservice and early educator development.
  • Align educator development with HB 2 and TEA expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve candidate readiness and retention.
  • Collaborate with EPP staff and partners on needs.
