Job summary

Region 4 Education Service Center seeks a Department Director for the Office of Emergency Management and School Safety to lead comprehensive emergency management and school safety initiatives across Region 4 and partner districts.

The Director will work with district emergency personnel to develop and evaluate safety plans, provide technical assistance, and support services, coordinating with TEA and other agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, or related field.
• Completion of National Incident Management (NIMS) certification or related certification.
• Tactical Response training.
• Emergency Management Certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with districts to assist with and organize Emergency Management and School Safety and Security activities.
• Develop, present, and facilitate professional development sessions.
• Establish and maintain relationships with local emergency management departments and law enforcement agencies.
• Work with IT Solutions on design, implementation, and training of school emergency alert systems.
