Job summary

Central Piedmont Community College seeks a leader to oversee the Critical Response Training Center within its Public Safety Training Facility. You will manage two driving tracks, ensure compliance with state standards, safety protocols, and multi-agency exercises, and supervise instructors and staff responsible for high‑risk scenarios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Emergency Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement, emergency management, or tactical training operations.
• Valid instructor certification (e.g., POST, EVD) and a valid driver’s license.
• CPR and Basic First Aid Certification; must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees Training Center Operations, planning staffing and safety coverage.
• Establishes safety and risk management protocols for high-risk driver training.
• Oversees development and compliance of critical response training and multi-agency exercises.
• Manages driving tracks, vehicle operations, inspection, maintenance, and safety evaluations.
• Supervises instructors and staff, providing coaching and performance evaluations.
• Coordinates with agencies for joint exercises and regional preparedness initiatives.
