Job summary

Best Egg, now part of Barclays, seeks a seasoned Director of Credit Risk Oversight for the 2LoD team overseeing unsecured and secured lending portfolios. You will independently challenge underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management strategies to ensure risk alignment and regulatory readiness.

You will monitor portfolio performance, assess strategy changes, and develop robust risk reporting for senior management while collaborating across functions and with Barclays’ broader risk framework.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of consumer credit risk experience.
• Experience with unsecured and/or secured personal loan products.
• Experience in First Line of Defense or Second Line of Defense oversight.
• Data-driven analysis to identify credit risk and challenge assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent 2LoD oversight of credit underwriting, pricing, loan amount, and portfolio strategies.
• Monitor portfolio performance across product lines and risk dimensions.
• Evaluate governance and ensure alignment with risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
• Develop independent risk reporting and dashboards for senior management and governance forums.
