Job summary

JCW Group in New York is seeking a senior credit risk leader to join the 2LOD function. The successful candidate will independently assess, challenge, and approve credit risk on corporate and structured finance transactions, serving as the second line check on origination and underwriting.

You will partner with senior leadership across risk and business lines to shape portfolio strategy, monitor emerging risks, and contribute to policy development for the corporate and structured finance book.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of corporate credit risk experience, with direct exposure to structured finance
• Structured finance exposure: leveraged finance, securitization, or project finance a plus
• Prior 2LOD or independent credit approval experience at a bank or major financial institution

Responsibilities

• Independently review and approve credit risk on corporate lending and structured finance transactions, including leveraged and asset-backed structures
• Challenge First Line credit analysis, deal structuring, and risk ratings, ensuring alignment with risk appetite
• Partner with senior business and risk leadership on portfolio strategy, emerging risk themes, and large or complex transaction approvals
• Contribute to credit policy development and ongoing monitoring of the corporate and structured finance portfolio

The platform spans corporate lending, leveraged finance, and structured finance exposures across a diverse and growing client base.This is an exciting opportunity to sit at the center of credit decision making for a sophisticated portfolio, independently challenging, sizing, and approving risk on transactions that shape the bank's balance sheet, while working directly with senior stakeholders across the business and risk organization.

The Role
