Job summary

Best Egg, now part of Barclays, seeks an experienced Director of Credit Risk Oversight to strengthen our Second Line of Defense for unsecured and secured personal lending and existing account management strategies.

You will provide independent oversight of underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management, translate risk insights for senior leaders, and help shape risk governance across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in consumer credit risk, underwriting or portfolio management.
• Experience with unsecured and/or secured personal loans.
• Ability to develop and challenge credit strategies within 2LoD context.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent 2LoD oversight of underwriting, approval, pricing, loan amount, and portfolio management strategies.
• Evaluate proposed credit strategy changes and exceptions with rationale, analysis, outcomes, risks, testing, and monitoring.
• Develop independent credit risk reporting, dashboards, and insights for senior management and governance committees.
• Escalate material credit risks and track issues through resolution.
