Job summary

GEICO in Bethesda is seeking a Governance and Training Manager to lead Corporate Safety and Security training, communications, and vendor oversight. You will drive strategy, develop enterprise training plans, and ensure compliance across contracts and vendors.

You will coordinate with Procurement, Legal, and Finance to manage renewals and governance, while delivering executive updates and continuous program improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, security, communications, training, or related field.
• Experience leading programs with multiple stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
• Experience developing training programs and readiness materials for operational or security programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including leadership updates and plans.
• Experience managing internal communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience contract administration and vendor processes.
• Experience working with vendors including performance monitoring and service delivery coordination.
• Ability to partner with stakeholders to advance contract and vendor objectives.
• Knowledge of project and program management (planning, scheduling, risk, reporting).
• Strong organizational skills; manage competing priorities.
• Analytical/problem‑solving to evaluate metrics and data for improvements.
• Exposure to corporate safety, security, crisis management, or business continuity preferred.
• Ability to influence without authority and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Corporate Safety and Security training and communications program, including strategy, planning, execution, maintenance, tracking, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage enterprise training plans for safety and security policies, procedures, tools, emergency protocols, and standards.
• Oversee creation and delivery of instructor‑led, virtual, self‑paced, and job‑aid training content for associates, security teams, and business partners.
• Build and maintain a structured communications program supporting policy rollouts, updates, readiness activities, program changes, and engagement.
• Manage communication materials, leadership updates, program announcements, guides, and references for clarity and alignment.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify needs, translate requirements into learning objectives, drive adoption of safety expectations.
• Manage contract administration activities: tracking status, renewals, service requirements, deliverables, and documents.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Legal, Finance on contract development, amendments, renewals, terminations, governance.
• Oversee vendor management activities: onboarding, SLA monitoring, issue resolution, performance tracking, relationship management.
• Develop vendor performance metrics, dashboards, and reports for leadership visibility.
• Ensure training records, contracts, and reference materials are accurate and compliant.
• Support readiness exercises, drills, after‑action reviews, and training refresh efforts.
• Lead cross‑functional projects related to training, communications, contracts, vendors, and improvements.
• Prepare executive‑ready updates and presentations for leadership.
