Commercial Director – Electrical & Industrial Manufacturing

Full-Time | Executive Leadership | North American Operations

Full Relocation Assistance Available | U.S. Citizenship Required

Position Overview

We are partnering with a growing North American manufacturer seeking an experienced Commercial Director to build and lead its commercial function across U.S. and Mexico operations.

This executive-level position will oversee commercial strategy, profitable revenue growth, enterprise pricing, strategic customer relationships, contract negotiations, and sales organization development.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in electrical manufacturing, engineered products, or industrial operations, combined with progressive commercial leadership experience. This individual must understand both the technical and financial complexities of manufacturing and be capable of translating market opportunities into profitable, executable business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies targeting power distribution, switchgear, busway, critical power, data centers, and industrial electrical markets.
  • Lead enterprise pricing strategy, margin management, commodity-indexed pricing, and commercial governance across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Oversee strategic customer relationships, key account development, complex negotiations, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Build, lead, and develop a scalable sales organization, including direct sales, business development, manufacturers' representatives, and distribution channels.
  • Drive profitable growth through market expansion, new business development, strategic partnerships, and customer retention.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to align commercial commitments with production capacity, manufacturing capabilities, and and profitability objectives.
  • Establish disciplined forecasting, pipeline management, CRM processes, and commercial performance metrics.
  • Manage commercial contracts, including MSAs, LTAs, pricing agreements, and commodity escalation provisions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical manufacturing, industrial equipment, power distribution, critical power, or engineered B2B manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading commercial strategy, sales teams, strategic accounts, or distribution channels within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineered-to-order (ETO) or high-mix manufacturing, including quoting, production capacity, lead times, cost structures, and contribution margins.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex B2B customer relationships, pricing negotiations, and long-term commercial contracts.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing operations, engineering, supply chain, and executive leadership.
  • Strong financial acumen, executive presence, and ability to lead commercial initiatives across multiple facilities.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the United States and Mexico.
Highly Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, product management, or plant leadership before transitioning into commercial leadership.
  • Direct industry experience with switchgear, busway, transformers, power distribution equipment, critical power systems, or electrical OEMs.
  • Experience with copper pricing, COMEX/LME indexing, commodity escalation, and material cost pass-through mechanisms.
  • Experience building commercial teams, implementing pricing structures, and scaling sales operations within a growing manufacturing organization.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing profitability, capacity planning, working capital, and commercial risk management.
Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity with significant influence over commercial strategy, organizational development, and long-term growth. The selected individual will have the opportunity to build and shape the commercial function while positioning themselves for potential advancement into broader executive leadership.
