Job summary

Mercy in St. Louis is seeking a Charge Master Lead to oversee clinically centric chargemaster functions across Mercy communities. The role emphasizes ensuring accurate reimbursement, CMS compliance, and collaboration with FI and coding teams.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in HIM/related field, 5+ years of healthcare experience, and Epic certification within one year of hire. Travel is required; RN, RHIT, RHIA, CPC preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Finance, Nursing or related field required or equivalent work experience.
• Five years of healthcare experience required.
• Experience with Fiscal Intermediaries (FI) and CMS regulations interpretation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Charge Master Clinical Specialists and oversee charge master functions across Mercy communities to ensure proper reimbursement and compliance.
• Collaborate with coding, CDI, and finance to optimize reimbursement and coding accuracy.
• Ensure billing processes align with governmental regulations and Mercy policies; travel as needed.
• Demonstrate strong organization and communication to guide teams effectively.
