Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking an experienced Coding & Charge Capture Supervisor to lead a team, ensure accuracy and timely claim submission, and drive compliance with governmental and payer guidelines. The role collaborates across Revenue Cycle to optimize workflows and financial performance.

The position requires supervisory experience, CPC certification, and a combination of education and extensive coding/billing experience within a multi-specialty medical practice.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Associates degree in a directly related field or at least 8 years’ experience in provider coding or billing required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years recent supervisory experience and 3-5 years recent related work
• Experience in a multi-specialty medical practice

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations by monitoring workload and productivity to achieve weekly and monthly goals and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinates coding and quality audits to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and/or third party requirements.
• Manages daily charge capture process ensuring timely and accurate claim submission; provides information to providers on missing/inaccurate charges.
• Liaison between Coding and Information Systems Departments identifying new or changed compliance updates and optimization functionality.
• Trains and develops new and current partners; manage HR duties including hiring, termination, and payroll.
• Coordinates projects with revenue cycle entities and provides guidance for correct reporting to third party payers.
