Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Director Chemistry Portfolio Growth to drive strategy for Reaxys and cheminformatics products. You will blend market intelligence with pricing and cross‑functional leadership across product, sales, and marketing.

You will translate customer and competitive insights into differentiated positioning, guide investment decisions, and coach teams to win in a global market. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in cheminformatics, a chemistry degree, and a proven track record in pricing,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field.
10+ years direct experience in cheminformatics software development or sales.
Strong market understanding with ability to translate insights into strategy.
Proven experience developing pricing and packaging for B2B software or scientific information products.
Excellent written and verbal communication with senior/executive audiences.
Experience operating within global, cross-functional, matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

Own ongoing competitive product intelligence for Reaxys and related cheminformatics features and data analysis.
Collaborate with Strategy and internal teams to support market research and differentiated positioning.
Help assess and prioritize product investments based on market and competitor insights.
Serve as chemistry domain and cheminformatics market expert for marketing teams and collateral.
Shape go-to-market and account strategy with sales enablement; provide value proposition guidance.
Lead pricing analysis, willingness-to-pay studies, and governance of discounts and deals.
Plan and execute launches with marketing, sales, and customer success for coordinated market execution.
Monitor sales execution trends and address gaps with proactive coaching at regional levels.
Mentor team members to build market understanding and competitive strategy capabilities.
Represent the organization at industry conferences and in the cheminformatics community.
