Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Project Director to manage a portfolio of capital projects across the five boroughs. You will lead scoping, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction phases, coordinate meetings, liaise with city agencies and vendors, and ensure KPI targets are met.

Authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• A four-year high school diploma and five years of full-time experience managing construction projects totaling at least $300,000 each year.
• Or one year of experience plus a baccalaureate degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, construction, or related field.
• Or one year of experience plus a valid professional license (PE/Architect/LA).
• Or a high school diploma and a combination of experience plus the education to total five years.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex capital projects across the five boroughs.
• Lead project meetings and coordinate with city agencies and sponsors.
• Oversee design/bid/build, design/build, priority and emergency projects.
• Direct vendors, consultants, commissioning agents, and contractors.
• Ensure projects meet KPI targets and maintain project history/files and schedules.
• Prepare reports, maintain accounting records, and process vendor payments.
