Job summary

The City of New York’s Department of Homeless Services seeks an Administrative Supervisor of Building Maintenance (M-II) to function as Director of Design and Construction. You will oversee DHS capital projects, supervise project managers, and coordinate with the Department of Design & Construction to ensure timely completion and proper administration of contracts.

Responsibilities include managing scopes, schedules and budgets, procurement oversight, and providing executive briefings on project

Qualifications

Eight years of full-time experience in construction, repair, alteration and/or rehabilitation of buildings with supervisory responsibility.
At least 18 months in a supervisory/administrative capacity overseeing a large portfolio of buildings.

Responsibilities

Oversee multiple DHS construction projects and establish timetables for timely completion.
Supervise unit project managers; assign projects and develop admin procedures for construction management.
Manage capital projects by prioritizing scopes, schedules and budgets.
Monitor capital design procurement schedules and ensure project registration when funds are allocated.
Administer design contracts, prepare work orders and process invoices; ensure contracted work meets specs and deadlines.
