Theron Solutions seeks a seasoned Director of Business Development to drive revenue growth in the Manufacturing sector. The role is hunter-focused, targeting new logos, strategic relationships, and executive-level engagements to propel digital transformation and IT services adoption.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years in enterprise sales, a strong manufacturing industry network in the Northeast, and a proven ability to close complex deals with C-level stakeholders across global teams.

Qualifications

  • 12–15+ years of enterprise sales, business development, or consultative selling experience.
  • Significant experience selling technology, consulting, digital transformation, or IT services to Manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing industry segments (Industrial Manufacturing, Automotive, Chemicals, Process Manufacturing or related).
  • Demonstrated success acquiring new clients and developing executive-level relationships.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue, bookings, and development targets.
  • Experience creating executive-led sales conversations resulting in transformational engagements.
  • Strong network of industry contacts and manufacturing executives in the Northeast region.
  • Experience managing supplier selection processes (RFI/RFP).
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Direct experience with leading technology consulting or professional services firms is highly preferred.

Position Overview

The Director, Business Development will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding market share across the Manufacturing industry. This is a hunter-focused position responsible for generating new business opportunities, acquiring new client logos, and developing strategic relationships with executive decision-makers.

The successful candidate will leverage a broad portfolio of technology, consulting, digital transformation, and managed services solutions to help manufacturing organizations address complex business challenges and achieve operational excellence.

  • Manage complex sales cycles, including RFI, RFP, proposal development, negotiations, and contract closure.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and consistently achieve sales and revenue objectives.
  • Represent the organization as a trusted advisor and thought leader within the Manufacturing industry.
Requirements
  • 12-15+ years of enterprise sales, business development, or consultative selling experience.
  • Significant experience selling technology, consulting, digital transformation, or IT services solutions to Manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing industry segments, including Industrial Manufacturing, Automotive, Chemicals, Process Manufacturing, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated success acquiring new clients and developing executive-level relationships.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue, bookings, and business development targets.
  • Experience creating and driving proactive, executive-led sales conversations that result in transformational engagements.
  • Strong network of industry contacts, local business leaders, manufacturing executives, and professional associations within the Northeast region.
  • Experience managing supplier selection processes, including RFI and RFP responses.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience with a leading technology consulting, systems integration, or professional services organization is highly preferred.
  • Direct experience working within a manufacturing company is a plus.
