Job summary

ICON is seeking a Biotech Strategy Lead for Immunology/Vaccine/Ophthalmology/Government, predominantly remote in the US. You will shape clinical development strategies, serve as a therapeutic-area expert, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver differentiated client solutions and proposals.

The role requires extensive experience in pharma/biotech, executive communication, and the ability to influence across a global matrix while travel is ~25% across the US.

Qualifications

• Executive-level communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Requires 9+ years in pharma/biotech/CRO or drug development environments.
• Experience supporting business development incl. proposal strategy and client engagements.
• Ability to translate scientific, clinical, operational and commercial considerations into strategic solutions.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a global matrix without direct reporting lines.
• Business acumen, analytical thinking and strong judgment for development challenges and risks.
• Willingness to travel roughly 25% within the US.

Responsibilities

• Shape differentiated clinical development strategies and solutions for biotechnology opportunities.
• Serve as strategic advisor and therapeutic-area expert during client engagements and bid defenses.
• Lead proposal development with cross-functional teams to create compelling RFIs and budgets.
• Build trusted relationships with biotech clients and identify opportunities for partnerships.
• Provide strategic oversight from solution development through execution and delivery.
• Apply disease-area expertise to inform evolving development approaches and client needs.
• Collaborate across functions to strengthen company positioning and thought leadership.
