Job summary

Anthropic is seeking its first leader for the Security team within the Applied AI organization. You will build the team from zero, decide initial security customers, and shape collaboration with Sales and other partners while staying hands-on with key accounts to develop a playbook for safe Claude use.

You will guide enterprise security engagements, evaluations, and threat intelligence, and set standards for responsible Claude use, including review before action.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years in industry with at least 4 years managing a team of customer-facing technical people.
• Hands-on security depth in at least one area (application security, detection/response, offensive security, or vulnerability management).
• Experience using LLMs for real security work (code review, vulnerability discovery, triage, or investigation).

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, and develop the first Applied AI Architects on the Security team and set clear goals.
• Decide team focus and which segments/ accounts require coverage.
• Partner with security account executives on joint plans and forecast reviews.
• Guide customers from discovery through evaluations and proofs of concept with success criteria.
• Coordinate with security ISVs, systems integrators, and managed security providers.
• Bring in engineers and trust teams when needed for customer builds.
• Write security playbooks and evaluation approaches, feeding learnings back to Product/Engineering/Research.
• Manage a small number of strategic accounts with executive briefings and hands-on workshops.
