Job summary

1Password is seeking a Director of Analytics Engineering to lead the roadmap, architecture, and team responsible for trusted data foundations powering our business. You’ll shape data models, tested semantic layers, BI tooling, and pipeline infrastructure across Marketing, Finance, Product, Analytics, and Data Engineering, while staying close to the technical work.

This remote role services the US and Canada, with a competitive base salary, equity, and a strong focus on AI-enabled analytics.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture, including experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong SQL and dbt experience with advanced data modeling, testing, and multi-environment deployment.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling (Kimball/star schemas) in B2B SaaS environments.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift for data warehousing.
• Ability to translate business priorities into a data platform roadmap and communicate with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, roadmap, and execution for 1Password’s analytics engineering function, including core data models and semantic layers.
• Hire, manage, and develop Analytics Engineers with clear career ladders and performance practices.
• Set standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, code review, deployment, and data quality.
• Review complex dbt models, optimize SQL, and troubleshoot high-priority pipeline issues.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM to turn business needs into a prioritized roadmap.
• Build governed, reliable data foundations that support company-wide decision-making and AI initiatives.
