Job summary

Fora, based in New York City, seeks a Director of SEO/GEO to define and execute our organic search strategy across traditional search engines and AI-driven discovery. You will build the technical foundations, measurement frameworks, and scalable systems that drive sustainable growth and advisor acquisition.

This hands-on role requires partnering with Engineering, Content, Product, Analytics, Marketing and Finance to implement automation, run experiments, and scale opportunities.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years leading SEO strategy and organic growth for consumer/tech brands.
• Deep technical expertise in crawling, indexation, site architecture, structured data, and Core Web Vitals.
• Hands-on scripting or API automation to improve SEO workflows and efficiency.
• Experience with AI-powered search, generative engine optimization, and large language model visibility.
• Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, and AI platforms.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies, run experiments, and scale solutions.
• Data-driven prioritization of roadmaps and measurable impact.
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, Content, Brand, Analytics, and Marketing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end organic search strategy across technical SEO, site architecture, on-page optimization, and content with growth goals.
• Lead generative engine optimization to surface content and advisor knowledge on AI platforms.
• Partner with Engineering on audits, crawlability, indexation, structured data, Core Web Vitals.
• Develop keyword, topic, and entity strategies including conversational and long-tail queries.
• Collaborate with Content to create briefs and optimization plans for AI and traditional engines.
• Design measurement frameworks tracking visibility and linking to advisor growth and bookings.
• Build AI agents and automated workflows to scale research, auditing, and reporting.
• Evaluate emerging search tech and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Manage relationships with agencies/vendors to extend execution.
• Work with Analytics/Finance to measure ROI and connect investment to business metrics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to embed SEO/GEO in product/content development.
