10x Genomics is seeking a market development leader to build the market for large-scale perturbation and single-cell data among AI and foundation model developers in biology. You will own strategy, segment markets, and define the data requirements enabling adoption of 10x platforms.

The role requires credibility with machine learning and biology teams, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to create demand in an undefined market.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in genomics, computational biology, machine learning, molecular biology, or a related field.
• 7 to 10+ years in AI-driven drug discovery, functional genomics, life science tools, or biopharma including market development or strategy roles.
• Working knowledge of single cell technologies, CRISPR and perturbation screens, and how data feeds ML and foundation models.
• Established relationships with pharma discovery, data science, or AI-bio leaders and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to build and execute strategy in an undefined market without a playbook.
• Excellent storytelling and executive communication with cross-functional leadership skills.

Responsabilités

• Define and own the market development strategy for AI-driven science, focusing on large-scale perturbation screens and drug discovery applications.
• Segment the market and size demand across AI-native biotech, pharma AI teams, technology companies, and academic model builders.
• Identify data requirements, use cases, and decision points leading customers to buy large-scale single cell and perturbation data.
• Build competitive positioning and a point of view on where 10x data and platforms are best input for model training and validation.
• Build relationships with AI-bio companies, pharma discovery and data science leaders, and technology/cloud partners.
• Shape partnerships, lighthouse collaborations, and benchmark/dataset programs demonstrating data value for model development.
• Develop thought leadership with customers through publications, conferences, and advisory relationships.
• Work with commercial, Product, R&D, and Corporate Development to influence roadmap and partnerships.
• Partner with Marketing to turn customer evidence into narrative and sales enablement for pharma audiences.
• Collaborate with translational market development to serve discovery and translational customers coherently.
• Build an insights engine tracking model builders, data purchases, datasets, competitors, and trends.
• Brief executives on market signals and opportunities; track impact metrics tied to pipeline and revenue.
