Job summary

Structure Therapeutics in South San Francisco seeks a Director of AI Engineering to build and scale production AI capabilities across drug discovery and clinical development. This hands-on leader will code, review, and deploy AI systems while guiding a focused team and aligning with scientific and business goals.

You will drive AI strategy, architecture, and implementation, partnering with cross-functional teams to accelerate discovery and manufacturing with responsible, compliant AI practices.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of combined experience in AI, ML, software engineering, or related fields.
• Hands-on Python and SQL proficiency.
• Experience building production AI capabilities from experiments to production.
• Experience with cloud AI on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Ability to lead and develop technical teams while coding.
• Advanced degree in CS, engineering, data science, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and deploy production AI applications and APIs.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation and semantic search solutions.
• Develop scalable AI platform services for model access and observability.
• Lead and mentor AI/ML engineers while remaining hands-on.
• Establish CI/CD processes for AI applications and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with scientists, product, data, and business leaders.
