Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Minnesota region seeks a Director of Engineering, AI to lead a global AI-enabled engineering organization. You will own multi-year AI strategy, shift to mission-based teams, and drive AI-assisted development with strong data-driven governance.

You will partner with Product, UX, and other technology teams to deliver AI-powered legal research workflows, with a focus on reliability, security, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in software development with 3+ years leading AI solution development and 10+ years managing managers.
• Experience leading managers and vendor-managed teams with responsibility for scope, cost, and quality.
• Experience turning multi-year vision into programs, roadmaps and measurable results across multiple teams.
• Shipping AI in production with LLM-based applications, RAG, or agent workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing global organization of engineering managers and engineers.
• Own Engineering strategy implementation aligned with product delivery roadmap.
• Drive the transformation to mission-based operating model with long-lived teams.
• Set and review metrics for reliability, quality, delivery speed, adoption, and cost.
• Manage vendor relationships and integration with internal teams to meet standards.
