Job summary

Thomson Reuters in United States (Minnesota, Eagan) seeks a Senior AI Engineer to architect and deliver AI agent systems end-to-end, leveraging modern LLM APIs and agent frameworks. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product teams, and drive observability and quality practices to ensure reliable, scalable AI-native solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience architecting and shipping production software systems, including hands-on experience building AI/LLM-powered products or agentic systems.
• Direct experience building with modern LLM APIs, agent frameworks/SDKs, or agent-to-tool integration protocols.
• Experience owning complex technical projects end-to-end, from design through production delivery.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems design, service architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with production reliability and observability practices: monitoring, eval pipelines, incident response, and regression detection.
• Ability to mentor other engineers and contribute to a strong technical culture.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver complex AI agent systems end-to-end, including multi-component pipelines and tool integrations.
• Build production AI agent systems on top of modern LLM APIs, agent SDKs, and orchestration/runtime infrastructure.
• Contribute to agent observability and evaluation practices to catch regressions before customers.
• Adopt progressive delivery practices like feature flags and early quality signals to improve release velocity and stability.
• Participate in design reviews and RFCs/ADRs to ensure coherent system architecture.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI-native, agentic development practices.
• Collaborate with product to translate requirements into solid technical designs.
