Job summary

TeamViewer seeks a Director of Software Development to lead a new Austin-based engineering team within the Digital Employee Experience platform. You will drive delivery of a strategic MSP-focused initiative, shape technical direction, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

You will establish engineering practices to leverage AI-assisted development while maintaining quality, security, and reliability, coaching leaders and engineers to grow

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and growing software engineering organizations.
• Track record of delivering large-scale SaaS or cloud platforms.
• Strong background with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience scaling AI-assisted development in engineering teams.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business outcomes.
• Experience setting engineering standards and quality expectations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and lead a new software engineering team in Austin, establishing a strong engineering culture and operating model.
• Own the delivery of a strategic, multi-phase DEX initiative that serves MSP customers at scale.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap for your area in alignment with the broader DEX platform strategy.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and customer-focused.
• Partner with engineering, product, and operational leaders to align priorities and execution across teams.
• Establish engineering best practices, development standards, and quality processes that enable teams to move quickly while maintaining strong technical foundations.
• Champion the effective adoption of AI-assisted development practices and help shape the organization's evolving AI engineering strategy.
• Coach and develop engineering leaders and senior engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
