Job summary

Capital One seeks a Director of Card Risk Assessments to lead a high-impact risk assessment team for the Card business. You will architect and drive assessments of products and processes, collaborating with senior leadership to implement AI-driven, always-on risk insights across enterprise programs.

You will guide strategic transformation, manage talent development, and champion innovative risk solutions while ensuring alignment with governance and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience required.
• At least 7 years in Risk Management or Financial Services.
• At least 5 years leading and developing teams in a direct people-management role.
• At least 5 years managing programs, processes, or strategic transformations.
• At least 5 years of partner and executive stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team for PLA, RCSA, and Risk Identification & Inventory.
• Link assessment insights across risk programs for holistic exposure view.
• Drive end-to-end strategy and transform assessment programs with AI/ML capabilities.
• Challenge legacy methods and architect data-driven, high-impact solutions.
• Advise across lines of business and risk communities and share knowledge.
• Analyze risk data to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Operational Risk, Compliance, Legal, Tech, and Internal Audit.
• Support regulatory interactions and prepare senior management reporting.
