Job summary

The Arc Montgomery County in Rockville, MD is hiring Direct Support Staff for part-time evening shifts (Saturday–Sunday 3pm–11pm) across multiple Montgomery County locations including Silver Spring, Rockville, and Kensington. The role focuses on empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community living settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living, ensuring safety, and promoting participation in community activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 18+ with one year experience.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Effective verbal & written communication and computer skills.
• Ability to read and write fluently in English.
• Ability to assist people with activities of daily living.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform bending/reaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide supports to promote and empower the people supported in Inclusive Living Services.
• Promote community living in 30+ homes under The Arc Montgomery County.
• Ensure safety and well-being; supervise homes and assist with daily living needs.
