Job summary

Whole Life in Connecticut is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Hebron. You will support daily living activities, promote independence, and help clients engage with the community while ensuring safety and dignity.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, medications under supervision, documenting observations, and coordinating with families and managers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to pass background, driving, and abuse registry checks.
• Must be able to stand, move, lift, and perform duties including lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Must document care in English and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper technique.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
