Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care for adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities in Connecticut. The role emphasizes supporting daily living activities, promoting independence, and encouraging community integration within a respectful and empowering team.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, administering medications, documenting care, and ensuring safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license, Social Security card, birth certificate, or passport required.
• Ability to pass background check and medical tests after hire.
• Must be able to stand, move, lift up to 100 lbs unassisted in some positions.
• Must document care in English and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper techniques.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Implement individualized care plans.
