Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our Connecticut team. DSPs support adults with developmental and physical disabilities, helping with daily living activities, promoting independence, and assisting with community integration.

You will build trusting relationships with clients and families while ensuring safety, dignity, and well-being. Role includes assisting with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs, light housekeeping and documentation.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School diploma, transcripts or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, or passport.
• Ability to pass a background check, safe driving record, and abuse registry check; post-hire fits for duty and TB test within 30 days.
• Must be able to stand, move, twist, bend, kneel, reach, lift, and walk most of shift; some positions may lift up to 100 lbs unassisted.
• Must document care in English and communicate in English with clients and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper techniques.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
