Job summary

Easterseals Blake Foundation is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live as independently as possible. The role involves hands-on personal care, transportation, and community integration.

We value safety, compassionate care, and teamwork while empowering members to achieve daily goals and build skills for competitive employment. Training and certifications are provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Three (3) months of caregiving experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license with limited violations.
• Must pass a criminal background check during employment.
• Ability to obtain AZ DPS fingerprint clearance card.
• CPR, First Aid, and related certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care, eating, mobility, and hygiene.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and light yard work as needed.
• Provide transportation and accompany members to appointments and activities.
• Support community participation, budgeting, exercise, and nutrition guidance.
• Administer medications or assist with self-administration under supervision.
• Maintain up-to-date ISP documentation and incident reporting.
• Use de-escalation techniques and perform basic First Aid/CPR if required.
• Deliver on-the-job training and help members prepare for competitive work.
