Easterseals PORT Health is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with IDD and mental health in home and community settings in North Carolina. You will support daily living, personal care, and health-related tasks while following individualized plans, with documentation kept up to date.

Requirements include a High School diploma, about 1 year of direct care or CNA experience, and a willingness to complete a comprehensive training curriculum (CPR/First Aid,

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 1 year of direct care experience, personal care and/or CNA experience, preferred.
• Must complete and maintain our training curriculum, which includes (but is not limited to) the following: CPR/First Aid, Crisis Intervention Techniques, Medication Administration, OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP), Seizure Management, Core competencies and other trainings relevant to position

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
