Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a part-time, on-site role in Baltimore, MD. The position supports individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges in a residential setting, with shifts including evenings and weekends.

You will provide supervision, training, and personal care, helping residents engage in daily activities and community outings while upholding individualized plans and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Commitment to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and ability to work as part of a team.
• Must have a driver’s license and acceptable driving record as determined by the Agency policy.
• Must be able to lift, pull, and push adequate weight to assist individuals supported.

Responsibilities

• Work in the residence of a person served as a personal support and to be engaged with him/her, ensuring programs and activities are carried out.
• Provide supervision and training to adults with developmental disabilities to promote growth toward their highest potential.
• Ensure the house is personalized and individualized to each person’s preferences and personality.
• Communicate medical concerns to the Registered Nurse and supervisor in a timely manner.
• Transport persons served to appointments, activities, and community outings.
• Assist individuals with independent living skills such as mobility and personal care.
