Job summary

Easterseals Hawaii is seeking Direct Support Workers to assist adults with disabilities in programs, community or home-based settings. You will promote independence, implement individual plans, and ensure health and safety while maintaining confidentiality and respectful care.

Responsibilities include supporting daily living activities, timely data entry and documentation, attending trainings, and collaborating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Exercise patience and understanding working with participants of many skill levels and individual needs.
• Be culturally respectful with a diverse population.
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) using the workplace language.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion per organizational policy.
• Competent with basic computer tools and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Support participants to achieve independence per their definition of a good life.
• Assist with daily living activities while respecting privacy.
• Complete participant data and paperwork by deadlines via online platforms.
• Attend department meetings and trainings as required.
• Respond to emergencies according to FoC procedures.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment.
