Job summary

REM Community Services, part of Sevita, seeks a Direct Support Professional to join our team in New Jersey. You will provide direct support in residential programs, helping 4–6 individuals per unit with daily living and personal care, health monitoring, and community integration.

This non-exempt role is full-time or part-time hourly, with opportunities to develop skills in behavior support and medication assistance.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver support per individual service plans including socialization and behavioral development, personal care, housekeeping, transportation, and community integration.
• Document progress, review logs, and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with budgeting-related purchases and asset management for individuals served.
• Maintain professional relationships with individuals, families, guardians, and case managers; follow Sevita customer service standards.
• Report any abuse, medical, or behavioral incidents per policy and external requirements.
• Protect and respect the rights of individuals and follow health care directives when applicable.
