Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help New Yorkers with developmental disabilities thrive in their homes and communities. You will provide hands-on care, encourage independence, and advocate for client needs in everyday activities and community programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License with 1 year of driving experience is required for driving positions (2 years noted in some sections).
• Experience with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals.
• Assist with daily living activities and meal preparation.
• Support health and wellness through medication administration and medical appointments.
• Assist with mobility and safe navigation of environments.
• Implement behavioral and emotional support strategies with respect and empathy.
• Organize and participate in community, recreational, and social activities.
• Assist with communication methods to help individuals express themselves and advocate for needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and maintain timely records and documentation.
