Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Whittier, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to promote health, safety and well-being for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role includes preparing daily routines, assisting with personal care, meals, and transportation as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a DSP and RBT certification (or plans to obtain within 12 months), with First Aid/CPR & CPI preferred. Must be 21+, hold a CA driver license, and pass pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate - DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• Registered Behavior Technician Certificate - RBT (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver's License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Responsibilities

• Promote health, safety and well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Advocate to improve the overall quality of life for clients.
• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Here's What You'll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.
