Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network seeks a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with developmental disabilities in the Los Angeles area. You will promote health, safety, and well-being, following Individual Program Plans and serving as an advocate to improve quality of life.

Essential tasks include arranging daily routines, assisting with personal care, meals, and transportation. Requires 21+, CA driver’s license, and successful background check to join a full-time 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificates 1 & Year 2, preferred or willing to obtain within 2 years.
• First Aid / CPR and CPI credentials preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a CA Driver’s License.
• Background check and pre-employment requirements applicable.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients (visual and active) per IPP.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs and clothing changes as needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans when required.

Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Hourly Rate: $18.50/hr - $19.50/hr
Shifts Needed: PM 2p-10p Saturday -Wednesday
Job Status: Full Time 40hrs/wk
Work Locations: Los Angeles, CA (Culver City area)

Here’s What You’ll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificates 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 2 years of hire)
• First Aid / CPR and CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
