Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities in Millersville, MD. This role involves promoting independence, dignity, and personal choice while building meaningful relationships with residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or better.
• 1 year DSP or related experience preferred.
• Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care to promote dignity and independence.
• Prepare meals and maintain a clean, comfortable kitchen environment.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech, and advocate for residents' rights.
• Keep clear records to ensure continuity of care and support.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule: Saturday-Sunday 9 AM - 9 PM

HowYou’llSupport:

• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
• Support people in preparing meals of their choice, encouraging healthy eating habits, andmaintaininga clean and comfortable kitchen environment - while promoting independence and personal preferences.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

MinimumRequirements:

• Mustbe at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles andassistingpeople who use wheelchairs
• Able tolift upto 75 pounds, stand forlong periods, and provide physicalassistancewhen needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
