Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore in Parkville, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This part-time DSP role focuses on helping clients live more independently through daily living support and meaningful activities, fostering dignity and connection.

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with experience and clean record.
• Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and assisting mobility.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program or willingness to complete.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals live independently by cooking, cleaning, laundry, and taking medication.
• Support community engagement and attend local events with clients.
• Be a steady presence during family visits, milestones, or shared moments.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and build confidence and self-esteem.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 8 PM

HowYou’llSupport:

• Help individuals live independently byassistingwith cooking, cleaning, laundry, and taking medication
• Support community engagement, whetherthat’sa walk in the parkattending a local event.
• Be a steady presence in important moments—family visits, milestones, or just a shared cup of coffee
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

MinimumRequirements:

• Mustbe at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles andassistingpeople who use wheelchairs
• Able tolift upto 75 pounds, stand forlong periods, and provide physicalassistancewhen needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
