Job summary

Bancroft is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for its Adult Residential Program in Carneys Point, NJ. The role involves implementing behavioral plans and supporting residents in daily living activities, with a focus on empowering individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.

The DSP will work the 2nd shift (Wed 2p-11p, Thu/Fri 2p-10p, Sat 11a-10p) totaling 36 hours weekly and will participate in transportation, healthcare appointments, and community outings, while adhering to

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License in candidate’s legal name and current address. One year minimum driving experience.
• Minimum of six months related work experience OR Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals.
• Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping.
• Provide personal care and supervision, teaching daily living and functional skills.
• Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings and provide safe transportation.
• Resolve problem behavior situations and provide intervention following Bancroft’s safety standards.
• Complete paperwork and maintain regular documentation; communicate with residents and families.
