Job summary

HorseShoe Beverage Company in Bemidji, MN seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with daily living tasks and promote independence. This hourly, non-exempt role offers day and afternoon shifts with every other weekend options.

A valid driver’s license, English literacy, and ability to document electronically are required. The organization emphasizes ESOP benefits and employee ownership for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license and pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Must not be disqualified by criminal background studies.
• Meet the physical requirements as outlined in the physical assessment form (pushing/pulling, lifting, bending, etc.).
• Able to read and write in English.
• Able to document information electronically.

Responsibilities

• Assisting individuals with dressing, grooming, hygiene, and other daily living functions.
• Assisting individuals with bedtime routines, administering medications, physical therapy, etc.
• Supporting and teaching individuals independent living skills (routines, meal prep, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, proper hygiene, appointments, shopping).
• Assisting individuals in accessing the community and participating in recreation and leisure activities.
• Assisting to resolve challenging situations as they arise.
• Support individuals who live in their own apartment, home or a family members home.
• Promote and teach a variety of independent living skills. Examples include financial management and budgeting.
