Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide quality living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living and working in the community. The work schedule is Saturdays and Sundays, 7 AM to 7 PM, supporting adults in daily activities and community engagement.

You will help with daily living, advocacy, and building independence, while maintaining clear records and collaborating with a trauma-informed care team that values

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old
Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs
Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed
Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)

Responsibilities

Support community engagement, whether that’s a walk in the park, or attending local events.
Be a steady presence in important moments—family visits, milestones, or just a shared cup of coffee
Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support
