WellLife Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist New Yorkers with developmental disabilities and other support needs in homes and communities. The role emphasizes dignity, independence, and inclusion, with responsibilities spanning daily living support, transportation, safety, and documentation.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalency diploma required.
• A valid New York State Driver's License with 1 year of driving experience is required, must be comfortable operating a large vehicle.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental or other behavioral health disabilities preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures activities enhance and support each person's social responsibility, independence, dignity and growth.
• Implements goals designed to maximize independence including budgeting, grooming, nutrition planning, use of public transportation, and use of community resources.
• Must be able to safely operate agency vans and/or vehicles per policy.
• Complete AMAP, SCIP, CPR and First Aid; exams required for employment.
• Coordinate evacuation and ensure safety in emergencies and drills.
• Administer medication and/or monitor self-administration as certified AMAP; document EMAR where applicable.
• Monitor and record progress on daily checklists and progress notes; communicate with staff and supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings and mandatory in-service training; act as a role model in various settings.
