Help at Home is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. You’ll help clients live safely, independently, and with dignity, following individualized support plans in a respectful, person-centered manner.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet at least one of the following: high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a state-approved training program, or passing the required competency test.
• Must pass background checks and in-service training.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to provide safe and respectful support in individuals’ homes and communities.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow each individual’s support plan.
• Report updates and progress to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living activities (cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, transportation).
• Encourage participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and community activities.
• Support individuals toward personal goals and independence.
• Promote personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Document services, activities, and progress accurately.
• Communicate with team members to provide consistent, high-quality support.
