Job summary

Legacy Treatment Services Group is seeking Direct Support Professionals for a group home for adolescents in New Jersey. The role involves building rapport, accompanying youth to academic events, community activities, and medical visits, and guiding life skills with positive reinforcement.

Responsibilities include crisis de-escalation when needed, teaching daily living skills, and promoting healthy activities. Weekend shifts are required; part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in child care within a residential treatment setting.

• Show adolescents how to change their lives with positive direction and reinforcement.
• Assist in teaching life skills such as cooking, laundry and cleaning.

This position pays a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked from 11pm Friday through 11pm Sunday for both FT and PT employees.The Reily Program is a group home for adolescents in a community setting. We are looking for direct support professionals to make a positive difference with the Consumers in our programs. On a daily basis, you can expect to:Relate with adolescents, understand what they are going through in their lives and build rapportAttend and accompany academic events, shopping, community integration, socialization skills, family reunification and medical visitsShow adolescents that they can change their lives on their own by giving them directionUse positive reinforcement to keep adolescents on the right track and use crisis de-escalation skills when necessaryAssist in teaching life skills, such as cooking, laundry and cleaningGet moving and go outside to play basketball, tennis, hiking, bean bag toss and other activitiesLead by example and have a positive mindsetHours:Full-time and part-time positions are available.
