Legacy Treatment Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support adolescents in a residential setting in Ocean County, NJ. The role emphasizes building trusting relationships, promoting independence and assisting with daily living tasks and medication administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma/GED plus three (3) years of experience working with children or adolescents.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work with children or adolescents in a residential treatment setting.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for making a positive impact in the lives of youth.
• Ability to frequently lift a minimum of fifty pounds (50lbs).
• Must pass and maintain certification in mandated trainings including Crisis Management, CPR and First Aid.

• Use positive reinforcement and crisis de-escalation techniques to help children and adolescents succeed.
• Participate in recreational activities.
• Serve as a positive role model while helping children and adolescents develop independence, confidence, and healthy social skills.
• Assist with bathing, feeding, grooming and other daily living skills.
• Assist with medication administration.
