Job summary

BrightPath Human Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses. You will help with daily living activities, skill development, and community participation in a supportive, goal-driven environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Company-paid DSP certification and paid training are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in human services or caregiving is preferred.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Pass background checks and required clearances.
• DSP Certification (company paid) within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in building independent living skills and engaging in community activities.
• Monitor, document, and report progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with program guidelines.
• De-escalate crisis situations and remain calm during emergencies; administer medications per healthcare plans.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being of individuals served.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families/guardians.
• Work assigned overtime as needed to meet program requirements.
