Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

You will help individuals build daily living skills, participate in their communities, and work toward personal goals while ensuring safety and independence. The role includes following care plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with a care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must complete background checks and in-service training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow each Individual Support Plan.
• Report updates and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
• Encourage participation in shopping, events, appointments, and community activities.
• Support personal goals and greater independence.
• Promote personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Document services, activities, and progress accurately.
• Communicate with team for consistent, high-quality support.
