Job summary

FIRST STEP INC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist consumers with daily living skills and community participation in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The role involves supporting self-care, independence, and engagement with family and community in a person-centered plan.

You will implement plans, provide custodial care, document progress, and transport clients to activities, while maintaining safety and strong written records. Excellent eligibility requires a valid Arkansas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Arkansas Driver’s License required.
• Must be able to provide transportation to the consumer.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors Person Centered Service Plan
• Perform custodial care as needed for the consumer
• Maintain behavior management techniques needed
• Transport the consumer in the community to non-medical activities
• Maintain written daily progress notes
• Maintain records for the consumer’s Person Centered Service Plan
• Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of developmentally disabled persons
• Other duties as assigned
