Job summary

Whole Life is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities in Connecticut. You will support daily living activities, promote independence, and help clients participate in community activities and jobs.

The role emphasizes relationship-building with clients and families, safety, dignity, and active participation in individualized care plans. Training and benefits are offered where available.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Proof of valid driver's license, SSN/card or birth certificate or passport.
• Ability to pass background check and health screenings.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs unassisted when required.
• Must document care in English and communicate with clients and staff in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming and meals.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment including light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper technique and safety.
• Document daily activities, observations and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations and follow care plans.
