Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Connecticut. DSPs provide person-centered care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting activities of daily living and helping clients maintain independence and community engagement.

The role involves building trusting relationships with clients and families, ensuring safety and dignity, and collaborating with a care team to implement individualized plans.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and required IDs for background checks.
• Must pass a background check, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry Check; post-hire health screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately and maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Implement individualized care plans in collaboration with managers and family members.
